Library Board of Trustees
The Riverside Public Library is governed by a Library Board of Trustees. The Board gives the mission to the Library, secures adequate funding to accomplish the Library's mission, sets the policies for the operation of the Library, hires the Director of the Library, and advocates for the Library in the Village and in the State. The Board consists of seven Trustees. A Library Trustee must be a resident of Riverside and must run for public election to the Board. The term of office of a Trustee is four years.

Committees of the Board
The Trustees work in committees that meet at the Library at varying times. These meetings are open, and the public is welcome to attend. The Library requires at least one week's notice from anyone who may need special accommodations in order to attend a meeting.
Regular Meetings of the Board
The Board of Trustees regularly meets at the Library on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm. Meetings are open, and the public is welcome to attend. The Library requires at least one week's notice from anyone who may need special accommodations in order to attend a meeting.
Meeting Schedule for 2026: January 13, February 10, March 10, April 14, May 12, June 9, July 14, August 11, September 8, October 13, November 10, December 8.

TOTAL COMPENSATION - Public Act 97-609
In compliance with Illinois Public Act 97-609, the Library maintains a list of all employees whose total compensation package is greater than $75,000 per year. This list is available for inspection in the Director’s office Monday through Friday by appointment.
