Who are the Riverside Friends of the Library?

We are a volunteer group of local residents working to support our fabulous Riverside Public Library through donations, program sponsorship, community outreach, volunteering, and fundraising.

The Riverside chapter started in 1931 as a social and volunteer organization and is one of the oldest Friends groups in Illinois. Since its founding, the chapter has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars, hosted and sponsored thousands of events, and volunteered countless hours for the library and community.

Major projects include raising funds for the Open Door campaign to improve access throughout the building and to purchase new bookshelves for the adult collection.

The Riverside Friends of the Library meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7 pm. Questions? Email: friendsriversidelibrary.il@gmail.com
