eRead Illinois is Moving from Boundless
What is Boundless?
If you love our audiobooks or ebooks, you've likely downloaded the Boundless app to access our eRead Illinois collection. eRead Illinois, until recently, partnered with the vendor Baker & Taylor whose recent and abrupt closure is going to bring about some changes.
What is Happening with Boundless?
Due to the recent and abrupt closure of Baker & Taylor, the Boundless app that hosts the eRead Illinois collection is being discontinued. While a transition of this size would typically take months, the team behind eRead Illinois is moving quickly to ensure minimal interruption to your use.
In the coming weeks, the entire eRead Illinois collection will be migrated to a new platform: the Palace Project app.
What Should I expect? What are the key dates to remember?
You may have already noticed that you can no longer place new holds in Boundless. Below is a timeline of important dates prior to the December 2 launch of the Palace Project app.
Important note: Your existing holds and checkout history will not transfer to the Palace Project app. We recommend making a list of any pending titles.

Effective Immediately: Users are no longer able to place new holds on the Boundless App.

Sunday, November 2: This is the final day you can check out any items in the Boundless app.

Monday, November 17: The Boundless app will stop functioning and be fully retired.

Monday, November 17: eRead Illinois content will begin transitioning to the Palace Project app.

Tuesday, December 2: The Palace Project app will be available for user to download, log in, and enjoy the eRead Illinois collection again.
