Moving Towards Normal!
We're getting reading for some big changes!
Our final project, the lower level sprinkler system, got started on May 12. We are hoping that the project will be completed by early June and that the new space will get occupancy approval by mid June.
With recent updates by the CDC and anticipated changes in state mandates, the Library is excited to announce some service changes just in time for Summer 2021.
Changes Set to Take Effect After Lower Level is Open
Starting AFTER lower level opening (exact date will be announced soon!):
Occupancy will be increased to 60% capacity!
All youth and teen materials will be available for patron browsing.
Computer sessions will remain 60 minutes. However, if nobody is waiting, users will be able to request an additional 60 minutes per day. Computers will be available in the adult, teen, and youth areas.
Select seating will be added to all areas of the Library. Furniture will be arranged to meet social distancing guidelines.
Newspapers and magazines will be available for browsing.
We are no longer quarantining material and remain fine free.
Curbside services remain available during posted hours.
Meeting areas are not yet open to the public.
Except for periodic outdoor programming, most programs will remain virtual through 2021.
While inside the Library, masks are still required for anyone over the age of 2. Even as our vaccination numbers increase, the Library is committed to protecting our at-risk patrons, including children and adults who are ineligible to receive the COVID vaccine.
We will continue to monitor state and CDC guidelines and will make service changes as needed.
