A representative from Social Security Administration will be here to inform us
of
What You Can Do Online @www.socialsecurity.gov
Learn about applying for benefits; estimating your future benefits; seeing if
you qualify for benefits; request a Medicare replacement+ card; change your
address or phone number if you already receive benefits; and much more with
their online services. If you are near retirement age, this is a Don't Miss
evening of beneficial information, complete with handouts of their website
addresses and explanations of what and how you can access your Social Security
information in a secure and convenient venue directly through their website. |

YA Open House and Scavenger Hunt
Come participate in our YA Scavenger Hunt: Friday, July 25th,
from 5-6:30 p.m. You and your team (up to 4 people per team) will
race around downtown Riverside searching for the solutions to our
clues, with many prizes to be won. Upon completion, our racers will
be served a hot dog dinner.
Then, stick around for our YA Open House! Come check out what
the library can offer you at our YA Open House sponsored by the
Riverside Public Library's Young Adult Council. The library will be
open to teens aged 12-18 only on Friday, July 25th from 6:30-9 p.m.
The internet computers will be available for use and the YA Area
will be open for hanging out. We will be playing
Transformers
on the big screen upstairs, and the public meeting room will have Wii gaming and Italian sodas. Come in and hang out in a Teens Only
area! |

SUMMER COMPUTER CLASSES AT THE LIBRARY
Beginning Mouse and Keyboarding Skills Did you miss our introductory
Mouse/Keyboard class? Contact Marilyn at the Reference Desk to
schedule a class this summer. Registration is required for all
classes. Contact the Reference Desk 442-6366 or
reference@riversidelibrary.org.
NEW: Open Computer Clinic for Practice
Attention all beginners: Do you need to practice working on your
computer skills? We are making our computer lab with four computer
stations available to you. A reference librarian will be with you to
answer questions while you practice. Computer Practice Clinics will
be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on these Fridays: June 20th, 27th;
July 11th and 25th and August 1st.

In an effort to go Green at the Library, we will no longer be
using foam cups at our programs where refreshments are
served. We encourage program attendees to bring a mug
with them to enjoy liquid beverages.

RIVERSIDEOPOLY IS HERE!
To coincide with this year’s Summer Reading Program theme,
GET IN THE GAME!, the Friends of the Library’s 2008 edition of RIVERSIDEOPOLY is
now available for purchase. The game,
based on an old favorite, has Riverside businesses, organizations
and landmarks on the board. Games can be purchased for $25 at the Library, so
don’t pass GO - just go directly to the Library to get your
copy today!

PHOTO CONTEST
We are looking for amateur photographers to bring in their
favorite/best 8x10 framed photo with the summer Get in the Game
theme in mind. Photos will be on display in the Public Meeting Room from
June 8 thru August 1. Prizes will be awarded!

PUBLIC NOTICE MEETING DATE CANCELLED Due to vacation conflicts,
the Riverside Public Library Board of Trustees has Cancelled their
Regular August Board Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, August 12, 2008. All
business will be resumed at the September 9, 2008 Meeting, at 7:30 p.m.
in the Public Meeting Room of the Library. |
