In addition, there were special crafts, games, and other batty opportunities for all in attendance! Food, drink and other delicious batty booths were set up in the parking lot next to the Library for even more fun and excitement. An Inflatable, sponsored by Buddy Dogs, was in the parking lot for kids to enjoy. The bat star of the book, Lillian, arrived in her 10 feet of glory, on the top of the author's Toyota Prius! On behalf of the Riverside Public Library Board of Trustees, and our patrons, we would like to publicly thank our Library Director, Janice Fisher and her library staff for all the effort and energy put forth recently to celebrate and promote the children's book, Bats at the Library by Brian Lies. A fun-filled, successful, community event was held at our Library on Friday, October 10th. Janice was instrumental in creating and promoting the idea of celebrating our library's starring role in this book. Her vision, along with her entire dedicated staff, including the management team of Dorothy Sikora, Jackie Aumann, Anne Huston, Marilyn Oorbeck and Sharon Shroyer, and together with our Friends of the Library officers, Ruth Julian, Kim Keldermans, Sarah Nielsen and Diane Harris, created a family event we will all long cherish. The "batty" atmosphere in the Library and throughout the community, reflected the friendship and camaraderie that is the spirit of our Library. Thank you for giving us Batoberfest! Martha Heine President, & the Riverside Public Library Board of Trustees.
