Services Summer Reading

at the Riverside Public Library
Let’s go, Riverside, and Get in the Game this summer!
The Riverside Public Library’s 2008 Summer Reading Program
runs from June 2nd through August 1st. Jump right into the
Get in the Game Reading Program with this information for
children ages 10 and under.

NEW THIS YEAR:
Registration EVERY Friday!!
We have loads of exciting activities planned for children of all
ages! Registration for craft and “Get in the Game” programs will be
accepted starting on Friday the week before the program takes place.
Children must register in the summer reading program in order to
participate. Program details are on the reverse! |
Registration Week: Monday, June 2nd – Friday, June 6th
Stop in at the Library anytime
during Registration Week to Get in the Game. Special Prizes &
Drawings all week!
School’s Out Hot Dogs from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Thursday, June 5th
Free Popcorn from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Friday, June 6th
Pick up your first Bingo Reading Card at registration. When
you’ve filled in one row, return your card to the Library, where a
wonder box of games and fun awaits you, along with a prize. Complete
5 Bingo Reading Cards, and you’ve won the Game: you’ve earned your
finishing prize and the chance to put a special bookplate with YOUR
NAME in a favorite book here at the Library. Go for the Gold and
complete each square in your Bingo Reading Card to join the Gold
Medal Readers’ Club: we’ll put your name on the Wall of Honor!
Registration for Get in the Game is open until the end of June, so
stop by any time! Registration is limited to Riverside residents.

Riverside Reads “One Book”
Riverside Reads is back!
This year, get your whole family “in the game” by reading the same
book together (your choice which title). Join us at our “Awards
Banquet” on Tuesday, July 29th and cast your ballot for this
Summer’s Best Book. Make your Family Reading choice together, and
read your book aloud, listen to an audio book, or family members may
read different versions of the book.
Sign up anytime in June!
Please R.S.V.P. by July 20th to save your place at the
“Awards Banquet.” |

the “Reading Ref” list at the Library & let us know what you think–
FREE hot dog lunch and referee whistles!
Make Your Own Board Game
Sign up anytime in June, and pick up your
basic game-making supplies and rules. On July 15th at 2 p.m. show
and play your game at the Library with all of us.

be on display here at the Library in July! |

Olde Fashioned 4th of July
CARNIVAL!
June 30th - July 2nd from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Come to the
Library and play your favorite carnival games in the Story-time
Room! Bring your camera – photo ops not to be missed! No
registration required.
Children under 7 must be accompanied by an

Casey at the Bat Readers’ Theatre
July 8th, July 15th, July 22nd at
3:30 p.m. Casting call for speaking and non-speaking roles for a
dramatic reading of this totally awesome classic baseball poem.
Performance at “Awards Banquet” on July 29th at 6 p.m. For ages 10
