Adult Summer Reading Program
Beginning Monday, June 2nd, You
can register any time! Just stop by the Youth Services Desk. The
program ends August 1st. Registration is limited to Riverside
residents
only. |

The Riverside Public Library is in
need of volunteers to assist us with our summer programs,
activities, and to help out in our department. If you need volunteer
hours, or just want to help out, stop by the Youth Services Desk to
sign up! (Psst! Volunteering looks great on college applications!)

YA Game Cards Summer Reading for Teenagers.
Forget reading logs - instead pick up a YA Game Card at the Youth
Services desk! Each card has eleven squares for you to fill in
however you want, whenever you want, from a list of 18 tasks. Tasks
cover everything from reading books and magazines to watching movies
and playing video games! Each card has different tasks for a summer
full of variety. For each card you complete, you’ll receive a prize.
Complete three cards, and you’ll receive a $5 Borders gift card.
Complete more cards for a chance to win a big prize.

Come check out a YA movie every Monday at 4pm! These movies are for
teens in 6th-12th grade ONLY! Drop-in anytime! Popcorn will be
served.

YA Open House and Scavenger Hunt
Come participate in our YA Scavenger Hunt: Friday, July 25th,
from 5-6:30 p.m. You and your team (up to 4 people per team) will
race around downtown Riverside searching for the solutions to our
clues, with many prizes to be won. Upon completion, our racers will
be served a hot dog dinner.
Then, stick around for our YA Open House! Come check out what
the library can offer you at our YA Open House sponsored by the
Riverside Public Library's Young Adult Council. The library will be
open to teens aged 12-18 only on Friday, July 25th from 6:30-9 p.m.
The internet computers will be available for use and the YA Area
will be open for hanging out. We will be playing Transformers
on the big screen upstairs, and the public meeting room will have
Wii gaming and Italian sodas. Come in and hang out in a Teens Only
area! |

Riverside Reads
“One Book” Riverside Reads is back!
This year, get your whole family “in the game” by reading the same
book together (your choice which title). Join us at our “Awards
Banquet” on Tuesday, July 29th and cast your ballot for this
Summer’s Best Book. Make your Family Reading choice together, and
read your book aloud, listen to an audio book, or family members may
read different versions of the book. Sign up anytime in June! Please
R.S.V.P. by July 20th to save your place at the “Awards Banquet.” |
