RIVERSIDEOPOLY IS HERE!
To coincide with this year’s Summer Reading Program
theme, GET IN THE GAME!, the Friends of the Library’s
2008 edition of RIVERSIDEOPOLY is now available for
purchase. The game, based on an old favorite, has Riverside
businesses, organizations and landmarks on the board. Games
can be purchased for $25 at the Library, so don’t pass GO - just
go directly to the Library to get your copy today!

LIBRARY LANDSCAPING CHANGES
A big thank you to the Riverside Garden Club and Tom
Lupfer for the beautiful landscaping changes at the Library! The Garden Club
donated $5,000 to complete the landscaping project and Tom Lupfer
donated over $1,800 in memory of his grandmother, Genevieve Wagner, a
longtime Riverside resident. Special thanks to Garden Club members Joan Wiaduck
and Linda Mueller for their coordination of this phase of the
Landscaping Project. The Garden Club’s continued support of the Library is
greatly appreciated.

CIRCULATION DEPARTMENT
RENOVATIONS
As soon as you walk into the Library you will notice several changes
in the Circulation Department. These improvements & renovations were
made possible by donations in memory of William Cooney, former
Library Board Member and President. Thank you to Julie Cooney and
the Cooney family for selecting this project as the one to benefit
from the many generous donations received in Bill’s honor. A plaque
bearing William Cooney’s name is displayed on the new Circulation
Bookshelf in appreciation of this donation.

LAMPS DONATED IN MEMORY
OF EDWARD PETRAK
Two new Tiffany-style reading floor lamps now grace the reading nook
in the Adult Non-Fiction Area thanks to donations in memory of
Edward Petrak. In addition to the lamps, a subscription to the
magazine Cooks Illustrated, as well as several book titles, were
purchased for the Library in Mr. Petrak’s memory. |
WANTED: BOOK DONATIONS
The Friends of the Library are collecting like-new and high quality
used books for their September book sale. If you have any items to
donate please drop them off at the Library. The Friends’ Annual Book
Sale is scheduled for Saturday, September 13th and Sunday, September
14th. Friends Members’ preview night is September 12th. This annual
book sale if one of the Friends’ fundraisers to benefit the Library. |

JOSEPH DUFFY MEMORIAL
A beautiful Stickley reading chair has been donated to the Library
in memory of Riverside resident Joseph Duffy. Mr. Duffy passed away
in 2007 and donations by family and friends made this purchase
possible. |
