LIBRARY SERVICES & EQUIPMENT
Book Drop:
For your convenience, 1 curbside book drop and audio/visual drop box
are available. Instructions for their use are printed on the box.
Fax Machine:
The library fax
machine is used by the staff to help meet patrons’ informational needs
promptly. Costs for services are available at the Circulation Desk.
Friends of the Library:
The work and
generosity of the members of the Riverside Friends of the Library have
aided immeasurably in achieving and maintaining the high standards of
the library. For more information on this independent group, please
inquire at one of our service desks or go to our
Friends of the Library page.
Library Newsletter:
Library
newsletters are available online to announce programs and highlight
ongoing library services. See our current
newsletter now!
Microform Reader-Printer:
This machine can read either microfilm or microfiche. Copies are
available for ten cents a page.
Newborn Books:
For each new baby
or adopted child in Riverside, the Friends of the Library donates a
book to the library’s collection in the child’s name. Each book has a
name plate bearing the child’s name and birth date. We appreciate help
from family and friends to notify us of family additions.

Photocopy Machines:
Photocopy
equipment is available for use by the public. Black and white copies
are ten cents a copy and color copies are 50 cents each. Only
one-sided copying is available on letter and legal size white paper.
Video Magnifier:
The Library owns a
CCTV video magnifier which magnifies up to 60 times. A hand held
magnifying glass is also available at the Circulation Desk.
Kurzweil-National Federation of the Blind Reader:
The Library owns a Kurzweil=NFB Reader. The reader is a hand-held unit
which scans and reads printed materials to the blind and visually
handicapped. Ask at the Circulation Desk for more information.
Physical Disability Accommodations:
The library is
equipped with automatic doors at the ramp entrance and an elevator
serving both levels of the building. Please ask for any further
assistance needed.
Quiet Reading Room:
A quiet place to
sit or read is always available in the Quiet Reading Room. Take
advantage of the beautiful view and ambience of this room.
Public Meeting Rooms: The library
has three rooms
available by qualified groups. They are: the main Public Meeting Room
on the lower level; the Story Time Room in the Youth Services area;
and the Quiet Reading Room on the upper level west end. Use is
restricted to non-profit, noncommercial group meetings.
Procedures and rules for the use of the Public Meeting Room are
available here and you
can download an
application here (you must be able to view pdf files).
Portable DVD Players:
Two portable DVD
players are available to check out from the Library or to view DVD’s
in the Library. Ask at the Circulation Desk for information.
Bike and Computer Locks:
Locks are
available at the Circulation Desk for use with our bike racks and for
securing your laptop while in the library. Think safe!
WIFI: WIFI
is available throughout the Library. Remote printing is also available
through our website.
Follow
