OPPORTUNITIES FOR GIVING:
The Riverside Public Library accepts tax-deductible, monetary donations
for
the purchase of library materials and special projects. Contributions
such as
these and those to the Gift Fund are lasting tributes to preserve
the memory
of a loved one, to celebrate a special occasion, to give a gift to the
person
"who has everything" or to share the interests of your club or
organization.
The Library staff is able to select from subjects or titles
with the honoree or group’s
area of interest in mind. Once the material
has been selected, an acknowledgement
is sent to you and to the person or
group being honored. The items that we purchase
with the donated funds
bear a special bookplate with the name of the person or
occasion honored
as well as that of the donor.
For more information about Endowment, Memorial
or Commemorative donations, call the Library at
442-6366
or request a copy of the Library's
Gifts, Memorials and Endowments Brochure
from one of our public service desks. |

DONATIONS
The Riverside Public Library appreciates the special place that books
have
in our patrons’ lives and the reluctance to discard them. However,
limitations of time and space make it impossible for the library to accept
all the books offered.
Our purpose in accepting books and other material
as donations is twofold:
to either add them to the library’s collection or to
generate revenue for
the library by offering them for sale to other patrons.
WE WILL NO LONGER ACCEPT:
Audio Visual Material in poor physical condition
Reference sets (Encyclopedias, etc.) published 5 or more years ago
Reader’s Digest Condensed books
Coloring or puzzle books
Puzzles with missing pieces
Materials whose subject matter is out of date (older than 3 years)
Books in poor physical condition
(donated books must be clean with
binding and covers intact)
Textbooks
Magazines
If you have questions about the suitability of your donations, please
phone the library so we can go over our current guidelines and discuss the
nature and amount of materials you would like to donate. As always, we
can provide you with a letter acknowledging the receipt of the donation
but can never issue a monetary value. |

Remember Wish
Lists? As kids, we worried about filling our lists with stuff we
might actually have some hope of receiving, and
stuff our friends and family would never buy us. Well, Reference was
visiting the Amazon.com site, and started their own Wish List.
Check it out and keep these items and us in mind for Memorials and Gifts.
Best Wishes,
Reference Department
