 Circulation Services

The Library's Circulation Department is always available to answer any questions you may have about your library card, what you have currently checked out, or if we have a particular title on shelf that you may need. We provide interlibrary loans and reserve material on request.

You can now check your card online at any time of the day to see what you have checked out and when it is due. Patrons are also able to renew their own material online and pay their own fines from at home. Call the Circulation Desk for more information.

Limits on Lending Changed
We no longer have limits on how many compact discs, CD-ROM’s, books on cassettes and books on CD that you can check out here at the library. We now allow 1 renewal on DVDs and videotapes. Patrons can check out 5 DVDs and 10 videotapes per card.
 

COLOR COPIER AVAILABLE
A Ricoh color copier has been acquired by the Library so that we can offer patrons the opportunity to make color copies for only 50 cents a page. The cost of black and white copies will remain at 10 cents. The new copier will be located in the Biography Room on the Main Level.

 
E-PAY
The Library has begun offering patrons the opportunity to pay their fines, fees, memorial donations and Friends’ donations through the State of Illinois’ E-PAY. This service is being offered through the State Treasurer’s Office. Master Card, American Express and E-checks will be accepted. Patrons using this option of payment will incur a small fee to use the service (charged by the credit card vendor) but will be informed about the additional charges before they accept the transmittals. Since patrons are responsible for entering all of their own information into the computer, the process will be secure. Access the E-Pay component on our website, www.riversidelibrary.org.   PATRON REQUEST (HOLDS) LIMITS INCREASE

Riverside residents are now able to request up to 15 books through Interlibrary Loan per Library Card. If you would like to place your own holds online and are not familiar with the process, please ask at the Circulation or Reference Desks for instructions. Did you want to request material online? You can always go to the Online Catalog and request material but you can also fill out our new online request form and email your requests to us!

CD AND DVD CARE
Please help the library save its materials. DVD’s and compact discs are fragile and easily damaged. Please handle them with care. We want to make sure that all our patrons can enjoy the wonderful resources we have to offer! We have special equipment that can repair CD's and DVD's. Please let Circulation Staff know if you have a problem with the material, and they will repair it as soon as possible. Never try to repair the discs yourself. This may cause damage that we will be unable to repair.  Thank You!
  IMPORTANT REQUEST:

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANY DONATIONS IN OUR BOOK DROP OR IN FRONT OF OUR LIBRARY DOORS. BLOCKING THE FRONT DOORS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. IF DONATIONS ARE LEFT IN THE BOOK DROP, THERE IS LESS ROOM FOR PATRONS TO RETURN THEIR LIBRARY MATERIALS AND OVERLOADING CAN DAMAGE MATERIALS. THE LIBRARY IS OPEN 12 HOURS A DAY MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY AND 8 HOURS FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS, PLEASE BRING IN ANY DONATIONS DURING THESE TIMES. THANK YOU!
 
CIRCULATION AND COMPUTER SERVICES REMINDER...
Remember that your library card is like a credit card. You need it to pick up material that you have requested or to check out material from any other library. If you have lost your card, please contact the Circulation Department as soon as possible to prevent its unauthorized use.

Don’t forget that you can request a canvas bag for your convenience when you
check out material.
